    3dconnexion has nothing on you. They should be making you offers. I wish I had this instead of my space mouse which I cant do without. Consider some buttons on the finger hold points on the upper dial. I am sure you can get them in there and this means work can be done without having to take your hand off the knob. I see now that they would always be out of position considering the dial moves freely. There must be a way to put a few buttons on the side somehow.

    Aabsolutley awesome. I love it. Not just how great your project is, but to find someone actually making something useful. So many home electronic projects are little more than toys and functionless demonstrations. This is an entirely practicle tool that seriously advances a part, the interface, that the big industry has left underfulfilled for decades. I recently have gotten into a fairly serious project myself. It was a protable sauna intended to be used to heat treat items to kill bugs and germs. It could scale to treat anythig from a simple to an entire room of furniture. Mainly I got the idea because bed bugs are making big comebacks and they are quickly becoming resistent to many pesticides. My sauna would be a chemical free low energy climate friendly method of killing them. Later I figured out it could probably work for germ eradication as well. Some furniture can be complicated and there can be lots of places hard to reach with conventional sterilization. Heat gets everywhere. Sorry, I can't seem to not go a little overboard describing it. Anyways, as cool as it was to build a controller that could control itself, iteract with wan servers, and take commands from a phone app, it is like a baby's toy compared to your project. I absolutely love how you managed to fit so much functionality all layered over each other in such a small package. Even having a wireless dongle for it. Is it bluetooth capable? I'm assuming the dongle is a 2.5Ghz connection. I'm mostly asking because I dipped my toe into bluetooth and was amazed how complicated they made it. I ended up dropping that functionality myself as the tech didn't quite fit in with by design purpose. I wanted more range to be available with as little specialized addon equipment as possinle. WiFi just provided it better for me. I know I've kind of been talking about my own project a bunch here, but it's more to contrast just how far ahead and advanced your project is and to say, I get it. I can't say enough I much I love your project.

      It's a shame but it seems you can't make one of these since the PCBs are not available. Also it seems like the author is not interested either; everything is out of stock on his website. 😞😞

    • @haddow777
      @haddow777 4 місяці тому

      @@timcorso6337 I haven't checked, but does he have the PCB schematic files up? That way you can get your own PCBs made. I assumed that would be an option since it's a marker project.

    would it be possible to improve on the precision by replacing the springs with some other linear mechanism? It's so awesome though, I am seriously considering trying to recreate. Have there been more implementations?

  • @AM-pq1rq
    @AM-pq1rq 5 місяців тому

    so regarding the preciseness, have there been updates since this video was created? Like the object drift and sometimes slightly inprecise response? I'm seriously considering to start this project for a DIY build but it would have to become a tool that I can really really use :)
